  1. Your project sounds so put together and is very organized however your topics are extremely broad and don't leave much room for depth. Perhaps if you focused on one idea, the film would flow naturally and be more meaningful to the audience?

  2. I like the idea of an experimental film, but I've never actually seen any of the movies you mention as your sources of inspiration.

Will you need a cast for your film or will it just be images? If the film is experimental, would the viewing of it be experimental as well? What would you have audience members do?

  3. For climate change and energy, maybe you could check out some of the films screened during the Global Film Festival that were focused on "natural" (Super/Natural) like Yann Arthus-Bertrand's Home or Judith Helfand's Everything's Cool. I didn't see Everything's Cool, but Home was very interesting and it was able to tie several issues together such as over-expansion and industrialization. It also set out to explain how all of the earth's problems are interconnected, as you propose to do with your film. Also since you're interested in the Cosa Nostra, the Camorra (basically the Campania/Naples area's counterpart to Cosa Nostra) is heavily involved in the improper disposal of toxic waste which involves crime and government inefficiency.

  4. Andy, pick a point in Takaki's text or AsianAm history where you feel mankind has constantly repeated its own mistakes. That might help you hone in on your material.
